Film Tickets Sponsorship
HK Express is the Official Airline sponsor of Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) this year. Riding on this platform, we have formed a partnership with local key non-governmental organization (NGO) Po Leung Kuk to organize an activity for the less fortunate kids under their care.
The children were brought to view a French documentary- ‘Tomorrow’ or ‘Demain’ in French - directed by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent, at Sha Tin Town Hall. To show our warmest support to the children, some of our staff also joined them in watching the documentary, and to a post screening discussion in Cantonese after the viewing. This is to encourage uptake of the arts in the younger generation, and to facilitate a deeper appreciation of building a sustainable society together, which is the main message “Tomorrow” aims to deliver.
OIWA Flag Day
An annual affair, proceeds from the Flag Day organized by the Outlying Islands Women’s Association of Hong Kong (OIWA) are used to support long-term social service works. A non-profit organisation, OIWA has been established for over 39 years in the outlying islands (including Peng Chau, Lamma Island, Mui Wo, Tai O, Tung Chung New Town and Old Village) to support less-privileged women and children. Some of their activities include providing family care services and employment services, including neighborhoods support child care, afterschool child care service and other projects that help women return to the work force. HK Express is proud to be a part of this meaningful activity that gives back to our community and make a difference to the outlying islands’ less-privileged women and children.
Elderly Home Christmas Party
In December 2015, some of the HK Express staff volunteered at an elderly home in Tung Chung to share the festival joy and happiness to the elderly folk in the Tung Chung Community. Bringing along some small gifts, we also designed games to play along with the elderly folk, and sang Christmas Carols for them. It was a memorable and fulfilling day for all the HKE volunteers to help spread the Christmas Cheer to the elderly in our community.
Hong Kong Federal for the Blind- Study Tour
Organized by the Hong Kong Federal for the Blind and supported by HK Express, a group of blind people and their families participated in a study tour to Taichung in late August 2015 for the first time. As it was the first time on an airplane for most of them, this trip meant a lot to them and we are humbled to be a part of it.
Youth Square Backpacking Trip
HK Express, Hong Kong’s low-fare airline, is pleased to support the Youth Square Backpacker Challenge. Youth Square- a project commissioned by the HKSAR Government’s Home Affairs Bureau, aims to implement the Bureau’s vision and purpose in promoting social harmony and civic education. Under this innovative youth programme, organised by Youth Square and supported by HK Express, 12 youths who have never been on an aircraft before will fly HK Express to Tokyo for a thrilling 9-day/8-night treasure hunt challenge. These backpackers will race around the city knocking off the challenge checkpoints with the additional challenge of a limited daily budget. Commercial Director of HK Express, Luke Lovegrove expressed, “HK Express is sponsoring the air travel for the programme and looks forward to welcoming these special first-time flyers onboard. We are very proud to work with such a wonderful organization like Youth Square, who is committed to helping and empowering the Youth of Hong Kong.”
Donations to the Food Bank
Christmas is a time for giving, and spreading the holiday cheer! In our commitment to the community, Christmas is also a time for giving to the less fortunate, which is why HK Express will show its love for the community by making donations to St. James’ Settlement – an established Hong Kong charity Organization. Electronic Seasons Greetings cards will be available for Guests to send to friends and family. With each e-card sent, HK$5 will be donated to The People’s Food Bank of St. James' Settlement. The HK Express Christmas e-card was launched on 15 December 2014 and is also available on HK Express’ Facebook page.
