HK Express Heads to Hualien!

Hong Kong’s Low-fare Airline Launches First Non-stop Route to Hualien

Hong Kong, 6 December 2016         The latest in a series of unique flight launches, Hong Kong’s low-fare airline HK Express is thrilled to launch the first-ever non-stop route between Hong Kong and Hualien which began operation today (6 December 2016).

There were lots of surprises in store for the route’s first Guests as they waited to board the inaugural flight at Hong Kong International Airport. HK Express Executive Chairman & President Mr. Jimmy Ma and representatives from Taiwan Tourism Bureau joined the fun, posing for photo opportunities and distributing giveaways to Guests at the boarding gate.

The surprises didn’t stop there! When the group of Guests landed in Hualien, a welcoming party was on hand to greet them. Representatives from Hualien County Government, Jimmy Ma, Executive Chairman and President of HK Express, as well as representatives from Taiwan Tourism Bureau came out to celebrate the new route launch.

“Being the only airline on this exciting new route, we continue our commitment to a better-connected Asia,” said Jimmy Ma, Executive Chairman and President of HK Express. ‘’We are always striving to provide our valued Guests with unique destinations, affordable and reliable flights and unforgettable experiences.’’

C K Ng, Executive Director, Airport Operations of Airport Authority Hong Kong, said, “We are pleased to welcome HK Express’ new direct service between Hong Kong and Hualien, which further strengthens the extensive flight service to and from Taiwan. The additional connectivity will offer greater convenience to travellers and reinforce Hong Kong International Airport’s status as an international aviation hub.”

Situated on the east coast of Taiwan, Hualien is a gorgeous seaside city that is characterised by its natural beauty. From jaw-dropping Taroko Gorge to the tiny towns along the coastline, Hualien is a haven for outdoorsy types who appreciate fresh air, lush landscapes, and peace and quiet. There’s an endless number of picturesque hikes around the area — which will counterbalance all the delicious snacks to be found at the Zi Qiang Night Market.

As the new route takes off, so do some amazing deals! HK Express is excited to offer HKD96* up flights to Hualien as part of its Mega Sale, valid from now until 8 December 2016 (23:59), applicable for travel between 1 January and 30 November 2017.

These new flights from Hong Kong are the latest in a series of unique, affordable flights to hard-to-reach destinations all over Asia — with recent launches including Chiang Rai and Nha Trang. With its rapidly expanding route map, HK Express is making it easier than ever for travellers to explore Asia.
