HK Express Launches Direct Flights between Hong Kong and Saipan

Hong Kong, 17 January 2017    HK Express is excited to announce a new route to the sunny Northern Marianas island - Saipan! Surely, beach-loving travellers have been counting down for these thrice weekly flights, which took off today, 17 January 2017.

Prior to departure, Luke Lovegrove, HK Express Commercial Director, Thomas Hodges, US Deputy Consul General and Christopher A. Concepcion, Managing Director of Marianas Visitor Authority greeted the inaugural flight’s passengers at Hong Kong International Airport. The enthusiastic team distributed giveaways at the boarding gate, posed for photos and mingled with travellers to share the momentous occasion.

There was another surprise in store for the Guests aboard HK Express’ inaugural flight. Upon arrival in Saipan, representatives from the Marianas Visitors Authority gave travellers a warm welcome, complete with traditional seashell necklaces.

“The Marianas Visitors Authority is extremely excited with the launch of new service between Hong Kong and the Northern Mariana Islands in January by HK Express,” said Christopher A. Concepcion, Managing Director of Marianas Visitor Authority.

“These thrice weekly flights will provide a new option for tourists from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, who may be interested in visiting Saipan, Tinian or Rota. And vice versa, this new regularly scheduled service by HK Express will provide additional flight options for our people in the CNMI who wish to travel to nearby Asia for vacation or business.”

“It’s a win-win for everyone.  We congratulate HK Express for launching these new flights. The MVA has committed the partnership with HK Express to jointly promote the Marianas as a premier beach resort destination. We wish our friends at HK Express the best of luck with their new route and we thank them for choosing the CNMI as their newest destination.”

Located in the remote Mariana Islands — near Guam in Micronesia — Saipan is one of the most beautiful, secluded destinations in the Western Pacific Ocean. Known for its crystal-clear waters and excellent snorkelling opportunities, Saipan is positioned to become one of the region’s most sought-after beach destinations.

“Our new route to Saipan which launches today has surpassed expectations in terms of demand” said Luke Lovegrove, Commercial Director of HK Express. “We are finally opening up the Mariana Islands with low fares making this beautiful location more accessible to the people of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.”

HK Express launches the new Hong Kong-Saipan link with a special single-way HKD799* introductory deal (including taxes and fees) — on sale now until 17 February 2017. The promotion is valid for travel up until 13 July 2017.
