HK Express partnered with iconic Cheung Chau heritage bakery Kwok Kam Kee to give away custom-made “Ping On” buns to customers onboard.

 

Hong Kong, 24 May 2026 – Today, HK Express Airways (HK Express) teamed up with Kwok Kam Kee, an iconic Cheung Chau heritage bakery, to delight customers on selected inbound flights with a truly local surprise - custom-made “Ping On” buns. Infused with the spirit of the annual Cheung Chau Bun Festival, the buns’ “Ping On” theme – peace, good health, and fortune – brought heartfelt blessings to customers as they boarded our flights. HK Express also delivered a special in-flight announcement introducing the Cheung Chua Bun Festival, turning the flight experience into a moment of cultural discovery and celebration, connecting customers from various countries with local HK tradition. In addition, HK Express and Kwok Kam Kee distributed limited-edition plush toy keychains featuring the “Ping On” bun, presenting intangible cultural heritage with an innovative twist.
