Carry On Baggage

Additional screening of Cabin Baggage and Small Personal Item will be performed at the boarding gate. Any Cabin Baggage or Small Personal Item that exceeds the allowed size/ quantity/ weight at the gate must be checked in, and an additional fee will apply.

From 7 Aug 2023, Gate Baggage Fees apply for excess Cabin Baggage and Small Personal Item with an additional fee of HKD500/pc*.

*Excess Carry-On Baggage and Small Personal Item must be checked in. All Gate Baggage must be within Checked Baggage size and weigh no more than 32kg. Remaining checked baggage allowance cannot be used to offset baggage Fee. Retrieval of checked baggage at the boarding gate will not be accommodated.

Applicable to Customers travelling on or after 1 Oct 2021,

Each Customer can carry 2 items, including one Cabin Baggage and one Small Personal Item.


ONE Cabin baggage

Must fit in the shared overhead compartment and
not exceed 56 (L) x 36 (W) x 23 (H) cm (22” x 14” x 9”) and not exceed 7kg


ONE Small Personal Item

Such as small handbag, laptop bag, small backpack and camera bag;
must fit under seat in the front and
not exceed 40 (L) x 25 (W) x 20 (H) cm (15.7 x 10” x 8”)


All airport purchases at the restricted area will be considered as Carry-on Baggage

 

  • Excess Carry-on Baggage (including Cabin Baggage and Small Personal Item) must be checked in and will be charged according to baggage fees.
  • Due to limited space in the overhead compartments, you may still be required to check-in your approved carry-on baggage at the boarding gate without any fees. Please line up for boarding earlier as overhead compartments will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

 

Many countries have strict restrictions on the carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels in the cabin. These restrictions include:

  • Liquids, gels and aerosols must be in containers with capacity of 100ml or less.
  • Containers must be presented at security in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with maximum capacity not to exceed 1L.
  • The plastic bag must be presented to security separately from other cabin baggage for examination at the security check point.

To ensure the safety and comfort of all our Customers onboard, inflight comfort devices or accessories including, but not limited to, inflatable seat extenders, JetKids bed boxes, leg hammocks, baby hammocks are prohibited for use onboard our aircrafts.

Apple has recently initiated a battery recall programme for MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch units that were sold between Sep 2015 and Feb 2017 due to the batteries’ potential overheating and fire safety risk. This recall programme applies to selected serial numbers only which can be verified on Apple Inc’s website. As such, Customers are advised not to bring said devices which contain lithium batteries identified under the above-mentioned recall programme on board an aircraft, until they have been repaired or replaced as per the manufacturer’s advice.
