Guest experience is always of great importance to HK Express. As Super Typhoon Yutu passed over Saipan, it brought along catastrophic damages to the island, resulting in temporary closure of Saipan International Airport. As such, HK Express has decided to cancel the flights between Hong Kong and Saipan until 21 November 2018 inclusive.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reinforces immigration measures for children (under the age of 18) traveling to Saipan.
Child under 18 travelling with a supervising adult who is neither the parents must present a notarized authorization letter issued by both his / her parents. The letter should include the name, address, phone number, date and place of birth of the child, the name of his / her parents as well the name of the supervising adult(s) or the travel agent. Passport copies of both parents are also required.
For cases when any child under 18 is travelling with only one parent, a notarized permission letter in written format issued by the other parent is required. If there is no second parent with legal claims to the children, any other relevant supporting documents such as a court decision, birth certificate naming only one parent, death certificate, etc., are required.
If any child under 18 is travelling with both parents, only regular travel documents are required.
Failure to provide such documentation could result in detainment or refused entry for both supervising adult(s) and the child. We strongly recommend our Guests to prepare well in advance for a hassle-free journey. Additional information can be found here.
Following recent U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandates, HK Express will implement new screening measures on powder-like substances. Effective 30 June 2018, substances exceeding 12 ounces or 350ml may only be carried in checked baggage.
If found in carry-on bags, such substances could be subjected to additional screenings or potentially discarded. The updated policy affects only outbound flights to the U.S. territory of Saipan. All other HK Express routes remain unaffected.
Examples of substances that may be subject to scrutiny or restricted from carry-on include cosmetic powders, dry spices and protein powders. Substances such as baby formula, cremated human remains, and medically prescribed items are exempt.
Please note that due to system upgrade, any existing vouchers which have been purchased on HK Express official website will no longer be accepted. Please contact our Guest Relations Team here for arranging refund. Any refund requests shall be submitted on or before the voucher expiry date, and we will process the refund to your original form of payment.

Dear Guests travelling to Saipan, please note that In Town Check-in at the Hong Kong and Kowloon Airport Express line (AEL) stations will be no longer be available for passengers traveling on U.S.-bound flights from March 15, 2018. We advise guests to arrive at the airport check in desks 3 hours prior to scheduled departure time for check-in and boarding clearance.
The Safety of our Guests and Crew are our top priority. As such, beginning January 1st, 2018 smart baggage with lithium battery power banks that cannot be removed will be banned from Check In and cabin baggage on all HK Express flights.
All lithium battery power banks in smart baggage will only be allowed for carriage if the battery can be removed and meet the requirements of our lithium ion baggage policy. For more information about this policy please refer to the above. The battery removal must be demonstrated to our ground staff, however may remain installed as long as all functions of the smart baggage are switched off for the entirety of the flight.
For any smart baggage which needs to be checked in at the gate, the batteries must be removed, placed in a plastic bag and carried on board in the cabin.
According to the International Air Transport Administration, a smart baggage is defined as an Innovative baggage with integrated lithium batteries.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has enhanced security requirements for all international flights to the United States. All Guests travelling on our flights to Saipan will be required to undergo a security interview by our authorized security agent at the check-in counter. Guests are advised to arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time, and to proceed to the boarding gate promptly to clear any security measures.
