Duty Free Allowance

Who doesn’t love a bargain? Great shopping is always a fun travel activity however keep in mind that duty free purchase limits vary from country to country and it is the traveller’s responsibility to adhere to these limits. The below should be used as a guideline only.

If you are entering Hong Kong SAR you are permitted the following:

  • Up to one (1) litre of alcohol
  • Up to nineteen (19) cigarettes or one (1) cigar or up to 25 grams tobacco

If you are a Hong Kong resident - to qualify for the alcohol concession you must hold a Hong Kong Identity Card and have spent more than 24 hours outside of Hong Kong.

Visitors entering Japan are permitted up to:

  • Up to 200 cigarettes or 10 individual packaging heated tobacco products or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco
  • Up to 3 bottles of alcohol are permitted (no more than 760ml per bottle)
  • No more than 2 ounces of perfume.

Total of all goods may not exceed more than JPY200,000.

Entry points into Chinese Mainland accept the following:

  • Up to 200 cigarettes
  • No more than 2 bottles of alcohol maximum size of 750ml each
  • Appropriate amount of perfume for personal use
  • Up to 50 grams of gold or silver

Thailand entry points permit the following goods per adult passenger:

  • Up to one litre of alcohol
  • Up to 200 cigarettes or 250 grams cigars or tobacco.

Korea entry points permit the following goods per adult passenger:

  • Up to one litre of alcohol
  • Up to 200 cigarettes or 20 cigars or up to 250 grams tobacco.
  • No more than 60ml of perfume.

Vietnam entry points permit the following goods per adult passenger:

  • 1.5 liters of alcohol
  • Up to 400 cigarrettes or 100 grams of tobacco

Cambodia entry points permit the following goods per adult passenger:

  • 2 liters of wine
  • up to 400 cigarrettes or 400 grams of tobacco

Taiwan, China entry points permit the following goods per adult passenger:

  • 1 liter of alchohol
  • Up to 200 cigarrettes or 454 grams of tobacco
