Kon’nichiwa, Kumamoto!

HK Express Launches Scheduled Flights on “520” to Kumamoto from HKD798*

Hong Kong, 23 พ.ค., 2561

Hong Kong-based airline HK Express is pleased to announce scheduled flights to Kumamoto, Japan. Launched yesterday on “520” (meaning I Love You in Chinese) to celebrate the travellers’ love for Japan, the route will operate twice weekly, on every Thursday and Sunday.

There’s more good news: HK Express is celebrating the occasion with amazing introductory one-way fares from HKD798*. The promotion and travel period runs from now until 25 October 2018.

To enhance the festivity, HK Express yesterday partnered with Kumamoto Prefecture Government to see-off the passengers on this first scheduled flight at Hong Kong International Airport. Special guests including Chief Director Mr. Yoshiaki Bando, Deputy Director Mr. Koichiro Akutagawa and Senior Marketing Executive Mr. Chiu Chung Kin from Kumamoto Prefectural Government’s Hong Kong Office joined hands with HK Express’ representative to surprise the guests with tailored “Kumamon Tote Bag” and HK Express luggage tags at the boarding gate. The senior management of major travel agents in Hong Kong also shown their full support by getting onto the plane to Kumamoto.

Thanks to the convenient flight schedule, travellers from Hong Kong can easily plan a four-day weekend in Kumamoto. Around the seaside city, there’s much to explore from the 17th-century namesake castle to the beautiful Suizenji Gardens, and glistening Ezu Lake. It’s also a convenient starting point for those who wish to spend more time on the Kyushu Peninsula, where the travellers will discover quaint hot spring towns and the powerful Mount Aso volcano.

The Hong Kong-Kumamoto route previously operated as a charter flight with service-bundled fares available. However, with the switch to a scheduled route, travellers can now custom-make their journey by purchasing only what they need — be that early boarding or an inflight meal. Within the launching month, passengers flying from Hong Kong to Kumamoto will also receive the specially designed Kumamon tote bag.

Japan is among our most welcomed places, and Hong Kong-Kumamoto is surely one of the very popular routes in our network,” said Mr. Jonathan Hutt, Commercial Director of HK Express. “Apart from Hong Kong residents, we also expect to serve many Asia-based travellers who can take advantage of our convenient connections throughout the region.
