for Expanding International Interline Services
Hong Kong, 28 Thg2, 2018
Hong Kong-based airline HK Express and Iceland-based flight comparison site Dohop are pleased to announce a new partnership to provide international interline services to guests. The two forward-thinking companies signed a memorandum of understanding early today (27 February, 2018) at the Aviation Festival in Singapore. HK Express is the first airline in Asia to partner with Dohop. The partnership directly benefits HK Express guests, who will be able to travel beyond Asia with only one booking is needed on their multi-leg journey.
Founded in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2004, Dohop was voted the world’s leading flight comparison website in 2017, connecting guests with more than 600 airlines and numerous destinations. This modern interline system provides a host of benefits for both airlines and guests. Not only are interline partnerships one of the most commercially efficient ways for international airlines to cooperate, but they also ensure guests can make their multi-legs journey with different airlines in only one booking.
In the future, Dohop will line up HK Express with other airlines around the world for the interline partnership. With the agreement of both airlines, Dohop will set up a search and booking application into the HK Express website (www.hkexpress.com), providing flights options that outside HK Express network from the partner airlines. This intuitive virtual platform will effortlessly link guests of the airline with international airline partners, making it easier to find affordable multi-leg trips to all corners of the globe. HK Express guests will be able to explore exciting destinations beyond Asia in the future.
“Our partnership with Dohop is part of a long-term strategy to expand HK Express’ international network, as booking traffic moves toward web search,” said Jonathan Hutt, Commercial Director of HK Express. “By working with Dohop, HK Express will be able to expand its services to partner airlines and airports around the globe. The new developed search engine by Dohop will draw more interline bookings on our website, providing benefits for both the airlines and our guests.”
“We are very excited to be partnering with HK Express on this new venture,” said David Gunnarsson, CEO of Dohop. “The world of virtual interline is evolving at an incredible rate and it is fantastic to see forward thinking airlines such as HK Express playing such a significant role in the booking process.”
