HK Express Jets Ahead Again in June

Hong Kong, 13 Thg7, 2017

Month after month, Hong Kong’s low-fare airline HK Express continues to experience strong growth across all sectors of operations. The airline reported promising performance yet again in June, with increases in passenger numbers, ancillary revenue and Load Factor.

Passenger growth on HK Express continued to climb. The airline flew 311,364 guests in June, representing a 36.01% increase compared to the same month last year. Over the past 12 months, the low-fare airline welcomed 3,267,591 guests on board, representing a 21.65% growth compared to the 12 months prior.

The airline’s Load Factor remained steady at 90% last month, and 89% over the past 12 months. HK Express’ consistently high Load Factor is a strong testament of its excellent operational efficiency.

HK Express continued its robust on-time performance with a 74.8% OTP rate over the past 12 months and an average of 74.6% year-to-date, making it one of the most on-time airlines in the region.

The airline has seen continued growth in its ancillary revenue, which jumped to 29.71% of total revenue in June. The surge continues an upward trajectory, with ancillary revenue growing to 24.30% of total revenue over the past 12 months.

Guest Complaint Rates remained low this month, with just 0.24% of customers filing negative feedback. Over the past 12 months, the low-fare airline reported a marginal guest complaint rate of just 0.13% on average.

“We are pleased to see our ancillary revenue gain momentum month after month, now accounting for nearly a third of our total revenue in June,” said Andrew Cowen, Director and CEO of HK Express. “Ancillary services are a crucial part of our long-term business strategy to broaden revenue streams, as well as a key component of our mission to provide more choices for our guests as they experience travel that’s convenient, affordable and enjoyable.”

In addition to its excellent business performance, HK Express honoured Father’s Day in a unique way this year by naming an A321 aircraft “Braised Tofu & Roast Pork Rice” as a tribute to fathers in Hong Kong. This local dish is not only a beloved comfort food, it also represents the “Romance of Men” as a metaphor for loving and supportive fathers. As part of the celebrations, HK Express partnered with renowned local restaurant chain Tao Heung Group and invited local artiste Andrew Yuen to distribute the delicious dish to lucky passers-by in Causeway Bay during lunch hour.

HK Express’ official travel package provider, U-FLY Holidays, achieved excellent momentum in June ahead of the summer travel season. While planning their summer vacations, guests turned to this convenient online booking platform to reserve holiday packages, hotel accommodation and destination transfers – enjoying priority booking, free 20kg baggage and greater flight discounts in the process.
