HK Express Launches Convenient WeChat Mini App

The low-cost carrier’s new WeChat mini-app enables passengers in Chinese Mainland to book, track, and pay for flights in an instant within WeChat platform

Hong Kong, 25 Feb, 2021

HK Express, Hong Kong’s only low-cost carrier, has just launched its official WeChat mini-app today. Tailored for WeChat users in Chinese Mainland, the HK Express WeChat mini-app includes a raft of features to ensure a smooth and seamless journey every step of the way.

Convenient, seamless customer experience and flexible, the app’s functions range from on-demand travel information to optional in-app purchases via WeChat pay integration. Customers may also set up a traveller profile, search for flights, access billing information, check travel alerts and book add-on services such as extra baggage allowance or book your seat in advance. There are more features to come in phases.

As part of HK Express’ commitment to its customers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) and across Chinese Mainland, the mini-app answers a call for a WeChat payment option, essential travel information on-demand, mobile booking and shopping services, and a localised digital experience and content that’s tailored for customers in Chinese Mainland.

With WeChat being the highest usage platform in China, the HK Express official mini-app enables our Mainland customers a single customer experience through whole WeChat customer journey within one mini-app. The WeChat mini-app joins the airline’s growing suite of communication channels and customer service solutions, complementing existing platforms such as WhatsApp, Live Chat and email.

HK Express has been actively developing China market with a focus on GBA. The WeChat mini-app is part of the initiatives of being “localisation” to align with its local consumer experience. More tailor-made marketing and sales initiatives will be rolled out shortly for what the local customers are looking for.
