^The Upstream Check-in service enables ferry passengers to obtain boarding passes and check through baggage to the final destination at certain ferry ports. Under certain conditions, extra document check at SkyPier might be required. For passengers not using Upstream Check-in service, they must check-in at SkyPier. If you are not using our Air + Ferry Package, you should proceed to refund of Air Passenger Departure Tax before travelling to terminal. All ferry passengers transferring at Hong Kong International Airport are only allowed to stay in the airport restricted area.

FAQ - HK Express Air + Ferry Pass

  1. Why should I book the HK Express Air + Ferry Pass via HK Express?
    HK Express Air + Ferry Pass is an exclusive package only available at HK Express. It offers a seamless cross-border travel experience at an attractive fare! Book with us to enjoy the same baggage allowance of your flight without additional charges for your ferry segment and automatically exempt from Hong Kong Air Passenger Departure Tax. Another benefit is the auto protection on missing connections, which we will honour the next available flight or ferry to you (*applicable to unforeseen circumstances, e.g. operational delay or cancellation from HK Express or CKS only).

  2. Do I need to book HK Express Air + Ferry Pass in advance? Can I change the date after booking?
    You must book the HK Express Air + Ferry Pass at least 2 days before the scheduled ferry departure time. You may change your flights/ferries via “Manage My Booking” or Customer Care. A change fee of HKD 580 will be charged for every change on a per customer and per segment basis. Please note that fare differences may apply. Changes can be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure.

  3. What is the baggage allowance for HK Express Air + Ferry Pass?
    Cabin baggage and checked baggage allowance on ferry segments are aligned as those on HK Express flights. Your checked baggage allowance purchased shall apply to the entire journey. Please visit our Baggage Information page for details.

  4. Can I correct my name after booking?
    We accept minor name corrections up to a maximum of 3 letters for each booking only. A change fee of HKD 350 will be charged on a per booking basis. Visit our Fare Rules page for more details. Please note that name correction requests related to HK Express Air + Ferry Pass should raise to us at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your first segment via HK Express Customer Care as any request on name corrections for the ferry segment made within 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your first segment will be subject to approval from CKS.

  5. How should I request for wheelchair assistance?
    Please make your request via our Customer Care at least 48 hours before departure. If applicable, we will forward your request on ferry segments to CKS for follow up. We also advise you to contact the pier’s customer service hotline and reserve the wheelchair assistance service at your earliest convenience.

  6. What are the required boarding documents?
    Customers from GBA ferry port: You must present a valid HK Express Air + Ferry Pass itinerary together with your travel documents at the ferry port. Once you have completed Upstream Check-in there, you will receive your ferry ticket and boarding pass for your flight.

    Customers to GBA ferry port: Please proceed to the Transfer Desk E2 upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport. Present your HK Express Air + Ferry Pass itinerary, boarding pass, travel documents to collect your ferry ticket there.

  7. When do I need to Check-in at ferry port?
    You must arrive at the Check-in counter at least 60 minutes before your ferry’s scheduled departure time for Upstream Check-in. Please note that online Check-in is not available for Customers travelling with HK Express Air + Ferry Pass service.

  8. When do I need to Check-in at airport?
    Customers from GBA ferry port: Once you have completed Upstream Check-in at the ferry port, simply proceed to the boarding gate for your onward flight upon arrival of Hong Kong. No additional Check-in is needed.
    Please note: During the pandemic period, Customers should collect the stub of the boarding pass at the ferry port first. After arrival at the SkyPier located in Hong Kong International Airport, Customers are required to proceed to HK Express counter for further check to collect the complete boarding pass.

    Customers to GBA ferry port: Those who have booked HK Express Air + Ferry Pass are required to Check-in at the airport (Online Check-in is not available). To ensure there is sufficient time for Check-in, we recommend you to arrive at the airport at least 1.5 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure time.
  9. Why can’t I choose the FunFlex fare at the time of purchase?
    Sorry, FunFlex fare category is not available for HK Express Air + Ferry Pass at this stage.

  10. Can I book the ferry connection after purchase of flight ticket?
    Adding ferry segment(s) to your confirmed booking or purchasing standalone ferry tickets is not available at HK Express. Please book the HK Express Air + Ferry Pass at your initial purchase to enjoy a seamless cross-border travel experience.

  1. What should I do if I missed the onward ferry or flight? Who should I seek help?
    You may contact CKS / ferry port staff or our ground staff at the airport for assistance. We will accommodate you to the next available ferry/ flight.

  2. What about the meal that I have pre-ordered online?
    Please contact our Customer Care for a refund in case the misconnection was caused by unforeseen circumstances, e.g. operational delay or cancellation from HKE or CKS only.

  3. What should I do with my checked baggage?
    Your checked baggage will be transferred to your new connecting ferry/ flight. Please collect your checked baggage at your final destination.



Disclaimer for HK Express Air + Ferry Pass:

1. Please note that your contract for your ferry transfer services is with Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co. Ltd (“CKS”). We arrange ferry transfer services as agent for and on behalf of CKS who operates the services, and we have no liability to you in relation to the provision of such services or during that portion of your travel.

2. Your contract for the flight is governed by our Conditions of Carriage and your contract for the ferry transfer services is governed by CKS’s Terms and Conditions which set out at CKS’s website as current at the time your booking is made.

3. Any booking must be completed at least 2 days before the scheduled ferry departure. Every change will be charged on a per customer and per segment basis. Fare differences may apply. Changes can be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time.

4. You must present a valid HK Express Air + Ferry Pass itinerary together with your travel documents at the CKS ticket counter to exchange for a valid ferry transfer ticket before boarding.

5. HK Express Air + Ferry Pass, including the ferry transfer ticket(s), is non-refundable.

6. In case of any claims, complaints or disputes concerning the ferry transfer service, please contact CKS at marketing@cksp.com.hk. The decision of CKS is final.
