Check-in at PRD / Macau

Travelling via Hong Kong has never been that easy. Guests from the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region / Macau can check in to their HK Express flights via the upstream check-in service at selected ferry ports and land points.

A. Ferry Ports

Guests can check their baggage directly to the final destination, obtain boarding pass and apply for refund of the pre-paid Air Passenger Departure Tax Refund at most of the ferry ports.

The following ferry ports are available:

  • Dongguan Humen
  • Guangzhou Nansha1
  • Guangzhou Lianhuashan
  • Shenzhen Fuyong
  • Shenzhen Shekou
  • Zhongshan
  • Zhuhai Jiuzhou
  • Macau (Maritime Ferry Terminal)
  • Macau (Taipa)

1 Upstream Check-in Service is not available at Guangzhou Nansha, but you can still utilize the baggage tag through service provided by the ferry operator to send your bag to the final destination. Please reserve sufficient time for baggage drop at the ferry terminal and proceed to our counter upon arrival at Skypier to complete your check-in process.

To check in at upstream ferry ports,  you must arrive at the check-in counter at least 60 minutes before your ferry's scheduled departure time with the following items:

  • A valid ferry ticket
  • A valid HK Express ticket with a confirmed flight booking for same day travel (including mid-night departures)
  • A valid travel document and entry / transit visa for your destination if required

In addition, minimum connection time is required between your ferry arrival time and flight departure time. Please find more details below:

B. Land Points

You can check in and get your boarding pass at the following land points:

  • Shenzhen International Airport
  • Shenzhen Kingkey Banner Centre

To check in at the upstream land points, you must possess:

  1. A valid coach or limousine ticket
  2. A valid HK Express ticket with confirmed flight booking for same day travel
  3. A valid travel document and entry / transit visa for your destination if required.

Upon arriving at Hong Kong International Airport, please proceed to HK Express counters located at Row P of Terminal 2 for baggage check-in. To ensure there is sufficient time, we recommend you to arrive at least 1.5 hours before the flight departure, and baggage check-in services stop 1 hour before departure.

If you do not have any check-in baggage, you can go straight to the gate with your boarding pass and enjoy. Guests are reminded to arrive at the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before departure to prepare for boarding, and gate will be closed 20 minutes before departure.

HK Express shall not be responsible for any misconnection arising from unforeseen circumstances or incidents beyond its control. We strongly recommend our Guests to reserve additional time for your connecting flight.

If you are travelling to Saipan, all of the above check-in service will not be available and please proceed to our check-in counters at Hong Kong International Airport. We recommend you arrive at the airport 3 hours before the flight departure, our counters close 1 hour prior to flight departure.
