Hong Kong, 18 Oct, 2023

Hong Kong’s low-cost carrier HK Express was thrilled to announce the maiden voyage of its brand-new route between Hong Kong and Manila on 17 October 2023. As the latest addition to the airline’s network – and its first in the Philippines – the new offering will seamlessly connect Hong Kong and the Philippine capital, fulfilling its mission to enable traveling through affordable connections.

“We are excited to embark on this exciting venture into the Philippines,” said Jeanette Mao, HK Express CEO. “As a leading low-cost carrier, we consistently attune ourselves to our customers' needs. The Philippines is not only the homeland for many foreign workers residing in Hong Kong, but its popular tourist destinations for magnificent natural scenery. This new route promises our customers the opportunity to delve into the Philippines' varied landscapes and rich cultural experiences, as well as attracting Filipino visitors to experience all that Hong Kong has to offer. Whether discovering new destinations or visiting familiar places, we want to inspire customers to seize the ‘Gotta Go’ moments that call them to explore.”

It also marked the re-opening of T1 Midfield Concourse at Hong Kong International Airport on the same day, with HK Express as the first airline using the boarding facility. To celebrate the momentous occasions, customers on the inaugural flight UO514 to Manila received a warm welcome at the terminal with exclusive gifts. They were able to snap a pre-boarding selfie or two, underscoring HK Express’s dedication to elevating the customer journey from the very first moment.

Convenient connections from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport further provide travellers with accessible routes to explore the archipelago’s myriad of pristine beaches, unspoiled islands, and natural wonders, ensuring a gateway to the diverse offerings of the Philippines.
