The Airline Reboots Digital Customer Journey with Fast, User-Friendly Mobile App

Hong Kong, 10 Aug, 2022

Let’s go mobile!” Hong Kong-based airline HK Express is thrilled to ramp up its “Mobile First” transformation strategy, offering customers an array of helpful digital tools and services at their fingertips. As its latest digital initiative, the airline has unveiled a new and improved app that makes the mobile booking experience easier than ever.

“We are fast-tracking our digital transformation so the next generation of travellers has everything they need to plan, find and book flights in the palm of their hands,” said HK Express CEO Mandy Ng. “Our new app offers a dynamic experience that’s both efficient and enjoyable to use for our growing market of tech-savvy mobile nomads.”

The recently upgraded HK Express app combines form and function with a refreshed look, intuitive performance, personalised touches, helpful content and significantly faster loading speeds. Thanks to a new app infrastructure, HK Express has decreased both launch and flight search response times by approximately 50 percent. In addition, the app has streamlined the search-and-book journey down to just four simple steps and 53 percent fewer taps – and less time spent booking means more time to plan an incredible trip. To help travellers make the most of every adventure, the app also provides personalised destination content that’s sure to inspire.

Apart from improving the pre-flight experience, HK Express is working closely with Hong Kong International Airport to explore more Mobile First opportunities. This includes a contactless digital check-in and self-bag drop system using mobile devices, which allows customers to drop off their check in baggage safely with ease.

As part of its deep commitment to customer service, the airline will continue to take the lead when it comes to implementing digital transformation initiatives and keep pace with the evolving needs of HK Express customers.
