Announced on 3 January 2018, the annual study shortlisted the “Top 20 Safest Airlines” and “10 safest Low-Cost Carriers” (LCCs) in the world, drawing from a pool of more than 400 airlines, including both full-service and low-cost carriers.

Hong Kong-based airline HK Express waved goodbye to 2017 with a special countdown celebration on New Year’s Eve at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Hong Kong-based airline HK Express, a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will implement a new policy on the “Acceptance of Smart Baggage with Integrated Lithium Batteries” on 1 January 2018 to address recent developments of innovative baggage with integrated lithium batteries, known as “Smart Baggage”. The decision is based on the IATA’s guidelines, as adopted by the airline industry for safety management and risk mitigations.
